About
My name is Brandt Gray, and I make all of the knives you see on this site. I
began making knives in early 2005. All of my knives are custom made by me here
south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I have received much of my instruction in making knives from Delbert Ealy. Delbert
is primarily a custom damascus steel and Mokume-Gane maker. I use his steel
exclusively for my blades and bolsters because of the fine materials and craftsmanship.
To date, I make smaller "gents" liner-lock folding knives exclusively. For the
blades and bolsters I utilize primarily damascus steel. I occasionally
use stainless steel for the bolsters and the spines, and titanium for the liners.
For the handle materials I utilize pre-ban elephant ivory, fossil walrus ivory (both
dentine or inner ivory and outer ivory), giraffe bone, mammoth tooth and some woods
such as ironwood.
